Beautiful peak, awesome view, but visit only during the season, suggested for the month of December and January and even during the rainy season. Can try for off road fun and got one more route, where you can take cars till the peak parking, off roads are awaited by jeep folks. Can take at your own risk with 4x4

It is a hilltop with 3 frame like structures built on top. You can take good pictures there and have good view of the valley. The route we went (shortest in google from payyanur) has last 5km road in bad condition. We had to hire a jeep for rs700 to cover that distance. There are other routes through which you can drive till the spot

Palakkayam Thattu is a beautiful and well maintained hill station in Kannur. This lesser-known location is a misty mountain in the Western Ghats have an altitude of 3500 Ft from Mean Sea Level. Western Ghat Mountain Ranges are renowned for their rich bio-diversity. Paithalmala, Another famous hill station in Kannur District is just a few kilometers away from Palakkayam Thattu. This is one of the Safest hill stations in Kannur for spending time with family. If you visit here during the monsoons, you can witness the scene of the monsoon clouds hugging the hills along with the panoramic view of Western Ghats, which is just something that you cant express in words. Palakkayam Thattu is undoubtedly a Heavenly place for hangout with friends and family. It offers a good off road experience too if you are interested in off roading.

A great place to be visited, loved the moments there with my companions. If you are a true photogenic, then you should consider this spot. Children too love this place. You have to pay 45 to get the entry pass.

Palakkayam Thattu is a beautiful and well-maintained hill station in Kannur. It is almost 56 Kilometres (34.8 Miles) away from Kannur Town. Nearest towns are Naduvil and Pulikurumba.nThe best time to visit is soon after monsoon. When I visited there, I experienced the 3 climates on that day. When I reached there it was really hot because the sunrise was direct and there were no shades. After sometime it was fully covered with fog and little later it started to rain. It was really a good experience.
