This is the Darjeeling Campus of the well known Bose Institute of Kolkata This campus of the Institute was founded by Acharya J.C. Bose himself in 1920. Its premises consist of two buildings namely Mayapuri and Haimavati in Darjeeling, West Bengal. It was also the seat of many fundamental scientific works by J. C. Bose and his students. Many illustrious personalities over the years visited this place. The institute provides unique research opportunities in the realm of high altitude science. Recently a detailed programme of intensive research has been chalked out , in collaboration with several other national institutions, in the area of Astroparticle Physics & Space Science.
