Probably the oldest monastery of Gangtok. Beautifully painted walls, well maintained and an absolutely peaceful place. one can get a good view of snowy Hill top from this place if the weather is good. Monks of all ages live here. Rumtek Monastery is located 20 kms from Gangtok and is considered one of the important Dharma Chakra centres in the region.
