A perfect place for the avid book readers. This is located inside the DPI Complex.nnYou have to enter the Directorate of School Education gate and it is on the left (red colour building) - hardly 300 metres from the main road.nnIt has parking facility for 2/4 wheelers. They are open from 10:30AM till 4:30PM. It is a perfect place to organise book launches, book reading session, book bloggers meet up etc.,nnThey have a huge collection of books from across all genres. I was totally aghast to see the condition of this library. It desperately need funds, everything here seems out of date. The building is decades old without any maintenance, the books filled with extreme dust, the furniture is completely outdated, the book shelf's are almost crumbling out of the books weight. There is hardly new books, and in such a state I' m not surprised that youngsters would even think of entering this building, let alone reading anything. This place is good and If proper resources are put in the place, it certainly can be revived to let people and students to take advantage of it.

I was there during chennaiphotobiennale time.My experience was to good.we get to know lot of things about books,& specially biennale pictures.who are all book lovers for them it's really cool & decent place

Over 60000 books are available. You may find some old edition of books, really worth place for people who are interested in studying.
Similar place
