This is an awsome place for very good trekking experience just around 2 hour drive from Bangalore. Never miss it. Block the date during winter season and without rain. If it rains: you should be careful. Google for advance booking as forest department will never allow unbooked entries.

Nice place for night trek. We were expecting clouds and mists as per Google images. But sadly it wasn't there. Easy trek route, no challenges. Okay for one time.

Trek category: Moderate to difficultnEnsure that there is no rain for at least three days before you trekn9 yrs kids can also trek provided it has the enthusiasmnThere are a few steep climbing up and climb down areas, you need to take care.nYou need forest department approvalsnAnd sure to take a guide with you. We hired a Namma trip company who arranged everything. They will also provide a guide for your group if you are more than 9 people. Guide is useful if there are kids in the group.nGo in a group to enjoy the trek.nPlan for midnight which starts at 3:30 a.m. You need a good torch. The one you wear on the head (head torch) is very useful. You get it in Decathlon for Rs. 699/-. Don't go for basic one.nWear good trekking shoes which gives you enough grip.nParking is safe. The locals have arranged a field where you can park safely. Ensure you lock the vehicles and leave no valuables seen in the car.nUnless, you are professional photographer, a good mobile camera is good to carry.nJust carry basic stuffs in your bag like ONE water bottle per person, some ORS, a few chocolates. By the way, Chocolates is a great energy booster when you trek.
