Clifty Inn

This was a really lovely vacation spot. We were told by other people from Indiana that it is the most beautiful park in IN. The service was very good and everyone in the area was so friendly. The restaurant had nice breakfasts but we liked eating out in the cute historical town near by much better for other meals. The historical town was the cutest historical town and most well kept town I’ve seen in the Midwest.nThe hiking trails are great and the park is so beautiful. Most trails were pretty rugged for toddlers but there was 2 1 mile ones that were perfect with lots of birds and many cardinals.nOur King suite was huge, comfortable beds and furniture and just really lovely, just perfect for our family of 4.nThe only reason I gave 4 stars is because a giant coal power plant built itself behind the resort & really took away from the peaceful beautiful view. Everyone said the resort was there first which is so sad, but we did eventually get used to it and really enjoyed everything else about the trip. The person booking me said we’d want the river view (which just stares at the plant) instead of the parking lot balcony (which actually had 3 deer most nights). Like I said we got used to it (after 1/2 a day)and everything else was really to perfect to mind it much after that. I just would have liked to know it was there.nnI would definitely go again. It was the most affordable & beautiful spot only 4.5 hours from Chicago.

This was our first time staying at Clifty Inn, we had a very nice & relaxing stay there. Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable. The view from our balcony was beautiful. The staff was very friendly. We were quite impressed, while staying during this pandemic, we hardly saw any other guests. Hand sanitizer was accessible everywhere. My daughter even had the pool to herself for the weekend. We felt very safe there. Thank you for a great stay, we will be back.

Amazing and beautiful place. Clean, quite, comfortable beds, polite and helpful staff, beautiful grounds, amazing pool and hot tub. Buffet was not open due to covid but I know it's good! Been here before to eat. Views of Madison, Ohio river and IKE is stunning! They have a gift shop. Only thing missing is entertainment and /or a bar. Will come again.

Disclaimer- did not stay here. Just took a look around the place - wanted to stay here, ( completely booked could not get a room here) while we were visiting Clifty Falls State park. This would be so convenient for that. Located within the park. Grounds look great, great view of the river. It is close to the Power plant, not a problem except you see the plant when looking that direction on the river. Plan to stay here next time we come to Madison.

Beautiful facility. We had the park side suite, there were cheerios and peanuts all over the carpet and used a dial soap bar in the shower. Some details should not be overlooked. MacKenzie in the restaurant went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. She is the reason for more than 3 stars. Get that kid a raise.
