This is rather an airstrip which would have been constructed for occasional rather rare flights. Needs a facelift so as to make it operational.

Its a very nice place for airport But it is closed from many years & I don't think that it will open soon Because gov.is not in think to reopen this airport , but I am sure that in future the airport will in work .

Yavatmal Airport was constructed in 1998 by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. [1] The airport was largely under-used being used only for government-operated aircraft. With the aim to facilitate increase in air traffic, which in turn, would help boost trade in the region, the Maharashtra State Industries Ministry began the process of modernisation of MIDC airports in 2006.
