Botanical Garden

A popular tourist attraction of Pondicherry, Botanical Garden was established by C.S. Perrotet in the year 1862. The garden is home to several exotic varieties of rare plants as well as an aquarium.nnThis wide range of plants has been collected from various parts of India and around the globe. Aquarium is an interesting place to visit which abodes diverse collection of aquatic organisms as well as fish flora. One can also see the different methods of fishing adopted in the coastal areas being showcased here.

Nice place for kids. Don't really expect anything for adults..! Should mention: we get a nice car parking though.

A very greenish forest like botanical garden. A must see place established by French government a century ago. Varieties of old and rare trees are there. Tourists coming to Pondicherry should visit this garden. But the pity is the garden is not maintained properly and not widely publicised to the tourists.

Visited recenty after many years.Not maintained to standards of early years.Lawn ,pool are treat to eyes.You can find some tall and huge trees.Aquarium has few collection of ornamental fishes.kids will enjoy the Joy train.Kids Play area to be improved;Broken equipments need to be discarded.nnCan spend half a day if going with family.They charge a nominal fee for entry.nThere can be a concession rate for people to entertain daily walking in the garden.With Beach road being the preferred option for pondicherians,this one can be alternate if allowed
