Abundant parking for midday use. Not familiar with commuter park-and-ride options. Basic signs but need something more basic for those unfamiliar with conventions.
This is one of the cleanest DART stations I’ve visited. It’s right next to a large park and historical old town Plano. I had a blast walking through Plano and visiting all of its shops, and I DO recommend making a trip up here with your family or significant other. No homeless people, from what I’ve seen so far at this station.
I don't know the name of the park right behind the Dart Plano Station but it is absolutely serene, very shaded, has a Gazebo, good toys for the kids to play on, restrooms, picnic tables and benches to sit on. The Plano Station is also quite scenic and just a hip and skip away from downtown Plano for some good eating and shopping.
Collin Creek mall closed it's doors for good Wednesday so 870 needed to be rerouted
There are a lot of sketchy people here every time I use this station. I'm pretty much guaranteed to get hit up for money from someone who 'just got out of the hospital' or 'only needs another dollar to ride the train'. It's a shame because downtown Plano is a very nice place. I am from out of town and ride the Dart from my hotel to Plano but sometimes I wonder if it's worth the risk.
