The uparkot fort, stepwell of uparkot fort and the Buddhist cave all these three are situated at inside the fort's wall.nDo not any short cut or direction which Google map shows.nIt has just one entrance and that is at a short distance from railway station.

Nice place to visit with family and friends in junagadh. It's best historical place but people can't make it clean. They throw bottles and cans every were. This place need protection for children.

Uperkot Fort is believed to be over 2300 years old and comprises of elaborated 20 metres high walls in some places. It used to have a 300 feet deep moat within the walls of Uperkot Fort which used to be inhabited by crocodiles. There are step wells and caves at this historic place and the iconic attractions here are the Neelam and Manek, brought by the Turks.
