Vanchikulam one of the famous historical landmarks in Trichur, located in pothole and near to railway goods shed.nnVery long ago more than 50 years back the pond was used for trading and business activities through the water ways connected to the pond. Agrl.produces and commodities were transported to Cochin by using the water ways connected through different small rivers and backwaters. Kettuvallam the boat driven by man power was used for this.nnIn 2010 the pond was renovated and cleaned by Trichur corporation. Thanks to the corporation for the effort taken for cleaning and maintaining the Vanchikulam so beautiful with clean and neat. Everybody likes the place.
