VETERINARY COLLEGE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE, ORATHANADUnWith a view to give a new impetus to livestock sector and to improve the livelihood of farmers belonging to Cauvery delta region, Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu propodsed the establishment of a new Veterinary College and Research Institute at Orathanadu, Thanjavur district under Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai. This college is located at Orathanadu, 25 km from Thanjavur on the way to Pattukottai. The total area of the campus is 206.96 acres.nnThe Government of Tamil Nadu had issued orders for the establishment of a new Veterinary College and Research Institute at Orathanadu, Thanjavur as per the G.O. Ms. No. 134, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (AH-6) Department dated 09/11/2011.Thanjavur district. A comprehensive government order sanctioning man power, civil works and equipments for the year 2012-13,2013-14 and 2014-15 has been issued [G.O.(Ms.)No.223 dated 20.12.2012] giving full functional status to the college as per VCI norms.

Very good doctors, excellent treatment facilities available.nnJust 100-150 metres away from the Orathanadu temple.nnThe hospital opens at 8:00 AM in the morning sharply and function till 1:00 PM (12:00)typically afterwards they(student-practitioners and Doctors-professors) have college.nnAt first you must register and the registration costs 30rupees if your pet is a dog and 20rupees if it is cattle(cow or goat) and chicks, once registered you can avail this registration for 7 days.(You don't need to pay for the visits and doctor charges and medications)nnEcg,Scan,X-rays,operation Theatre-major,minor everything that is needed is available inside the campus itself.nnVaccination price of dogsnDHPPI(Distemper) 290rupeesnAnti-Rabies vaccine 135rupeesnnAbundant parking space available and beautiful campus.
