Lalitha Ghat is situated between the Mirghat and Jalashai Ghat on the sacred banks of the Holy Ganga and the temple of Lalitha Devi is located on the street above the ghat, so the name of this ghat became Lalitha Ghat. Infact this Ghat was developed by the Nepali King Shah during his exile in the early nineteenth century. He built the Lalitha Devi temple which is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati in Nagara style architecture. Devotees are having great faith in this temple as after worshipping in this temple they attain wealth and prosperity. Till the twentieth century AD, this ghat was divided in three parts as Nepali Ghat, Lalitha Ghat and Rajarajeshwari Ghat respectively. Later the independent existence of Nepali Ghat and Rajarajeshwari Ghats ended.nnSiddhigiri Mutt, Umraoagiri Mutt, Moksha Bhavan and the Nepali Kothi or Nepali Temple almost a wooden structure, built by the King of Nepal are the main buildings located on this ghat and the major temples are Lalitha Devi and Rajarajeshwari temple which is built in Pagoda style. The Nepali temple built on this Ghat by Nepal Naresh in Kashi is a symbol of Pashupatinath temple situated in Kathmandu Nepal.
