During my one month stay here in Khalsen homestay I realised how beautiful simplicity can be. Away from the cacophonic environment of urban jungle this place is surrounded by magnanimous mountains and a diverse variety of flora and fauna, that makes this place ideal for those who are seeking a touch of raw nature for mental detox.nOur host, Kandari uncle and Birbal uncle were such humane and assiduous personalities and that made us fall in love with the place even more.nTime just flew by in the company of pine trees, Himalayan aves, zealous canines and friendly locals.nWish I could have stayed a little longer...

Visited this place during the pandemic, the family who owns the place were super helpful right from the booking, travel tips, weather etc. They're perfect example of pahadi hospitality. Ever smiling and ready to accommodate any of our requests. The rooms are huge, comfortable with attached kitchen and has a huge patio where one could sit all day and admire numerous mountain peaks, and to add to it's beauty, I witnessed the best sunrise ever at this place. Lots of hikes nearby, an absolute paradise for bird watching. The best vacation home I've ever come across.

In the world of commercialization, Khalsen is an peaceful hidden gem. Situated atop a mountain range, it is easily accessible by road. The surroundings carry soothing sunlight, adequate vegetation and Cleanest of air making this place a sheer delight to stay at. I spend over two weeks here while working full time remotely and everything was just perfect. Network connectivity, Electricity backup, hot water, cleanliness and the other basic necessities are well taken care of. It's situated away from the hustle and bustle of the nearest city (Srinagar) making it an ideal destination to experience the ever elusive rustic life of mountains. There are numerous trails around the homestay to keep you busy on your weekends and carries a clear view of the mountains right from the patio to take your work stress away on the weekdays. and if that's not enough, you would always be surrounded by the positivity of the super enthusiastic canines wiggling around. They have an option for self cooking with a well equipped kitchen and also a stay with meals option too. The food is simple yet delicious and nutritious. One aspect that triumphs over everything here is the PEOPLE. Most caring and understanding bunch of folks i have ever come across. and if not the place Uncleji, Birbal bhaiya ana Anamika would make you visit this home away from home again without any second thoughts.
