3 stars for the fact that this is the only library in Udupi town. they have some good books. but it is difficult to properly scan the stacks because the compartments are so closely packed. there is no proper stool to see the books on the top racks. lot of people come to read the newspapers and doze off. they have a cupboard where new books are kept, the key of which is in the hands of the staff. One lady staff among the lot, is grumpy and hates doing her work. But she is not always there, and if you are lucky you will get the pleasant staff. They charge a fine if you over keep the books which they waiver based on their good mood
