The station Our station covers an area of 60 square meters and was obtained from a dressing room used at the time by the workers of the former landfill of the R.S.U. that stood on the site. It is located at 1,200 m in a northerly direction from the town of Trebiciano (part of the municipality of Trieste), and 500 m from the Abyss of Trebiciano. The building - renovated and extensively restored - has been divided into areas reserved for different uses: a visitors' room, a data acquisition room, a workshop, a storage room, hygienic services and a small entrance hall. The visitors' room is equipped with 4 PC workstations that are available for visitors to visit the site, read books on the abyss and scroll through images. During the courses it is used as a classroom with 12 seats. It is equipped with a multimedia station, a video projector, an overhead projector and a video recorder. The data acquisition room is equipped with a meteorological station (external parameters), a network server, the PC connected to the cave and the various alarm systems and video surveillance of the site, printers and scanners for document processing, some portable PCs, a signal generator, some precision analyzers, etc. etc.. The workshop - used for the construction, calibration and repair of equipment - is equipped with a wide range of tools and spare parts for electronic components. A panel - connected in parallel to that of the acquisition room - allows direct connection to the backbone. A compressor and a dry air tank are used for the (minimum) pressurization of the junction boxes located along the cave. The utility room contains everything and more, and also: a drinking water tank, an electric coffee maker and a microwave oven, in addition to the coffee reserve. The toilets take water from a cistern that collects the rainwater. In the small hall there are the electrical and refrigerator paintings.
