The Valcasotto castle is hidden in a hollow of the wood. At the moment only one wing, the chapel and the tower can be visited, while the second wing is under restoration and will probably be ready in a year. Volunteer guides lead through the halls. It is a very well maintained private residence and the visit is well worth the trip.
it would have been interesting to be able to book a visit today 11 October but, despite the fact that the Castle was always open on the site, with lots of timetables, no one answered the indicated cell phone ... Just to leave no stone unturned with a group of friends we decided to go equally on the spot and with other daredevils like us who came from various places not really close, we found everything closed .... true that the nefarious event of the water bomb of recent days created problems for the access roads but it was so difficult update the website so that we were all informed of the closure? It is useless to advertise with emphasis if there is no respect for those who leave for a denied visit ...
Historic building, handed over to several owners and converted from a religious building to a Savoy hunting lodge. It has a very nice interior with original period furniture. It is partly still undergoing restoration, but the prospects for the opening of the parts not currently visible to the public are optimistic. The natural setting in which it is placed is a real spectacle. The exterior of the building is very impressive. Vast parking possibilities. Cost of the ticket very low. I thank our guide, Miss Viola for the passion she put into revealing every little detail along the way of the visit. I greatly appreciated his way of illustrating historical events and characters who have touched and lived in the building. The visit is really recommended.
What can I say, beautiful! We took advantage of a FAI day to visit this beautiful residence, the old Certosa. The guide, a young boy from Fai, was very good and made us fully appreciate the visit. The glance upon arrival is beautiful and the fact that the original interiors are so well kept and restored is remarkable. We will return to visit it when the second wing is also open to the public.
