The Eastern gate, the last evidence of Campli's defensive walls. Erected between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, in the place called "THE CASTLE". There was the church of Sant'Antonio Abate, now no longer existing, at the time of the Angevins it was the only find still standing, for this known today as Porta Angioina. Unfortunately today it is all cordoned off and harnessed due to the 2016 earthquake.

Porta Angioina di Campli also known as the eastern gate is the only remnant of the walls of the Campli defense system between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. It dates back to the time of the Angevins and has elegant arches with three stone shelves and a quarter circle probably dating back to the 1400s. On it stands the bell tower of the nearby church of s. Giovanni from 1400. Above the arch vault, three Angioine signs are still visible, a little ruined by time. Good visit to all
