Good location for having a break. You can seat under the Loggia and relax on the shade watching people walking by. THIS IS NOT a shop/bar etc, this is just a place where everybody can stop.

Beautiful restoration of an ancient loggia with fish motif₩ the piazza has been beautifully restored with a park, benches and a nice garden. There are a lot of interesting eateries in the area -- and the best open air food, flower and antique market in Florence is just steps away.

Beautiful building. Sit down and watch people. Not a busy place. Relax!

The Loggia del Pescee is an elegant part of the Corridoio Vasariano that provided an elevated pedestrian link between the Palazzo Vecchio (and Uffizi Gallery) to the Pitti Palace. Comissioned by Cosimo de' Medici and designed by Giorgio Vasari, it was built in 1565. The extension of the Loggia del Pescee forms the top level of the Ponte Vecchio. The Corridoio Vasariano linked the Medici residence to the Pitti Palace so that the elite could securely move between the two without exposing themselves in the street and passing over the meat market that then occupied the Ponte Vecchio. The Corridoio Vasariano was closed to tourist for fire safety reasons in 2016, but is being refurbished and will reopen in 2021.
