Palazzo Tornielli

Palazzo Tornielli Bellini is one of the many buildings in Novara dating back to the period between the Counter-Reformation and the Baroque that is the result of workings and annexations of previous structures dating back to different periods, just like the Canonica del Duomo and many other points of interest in the city. The first document that testifies to the presence of the nucleus on which Palazzo Tornielli would have been built dates back to 1724. Overall, however, there is a building dating back to the second half of the 18th century, although the changes made both in the following century and in 1900 remain evident. The name of the building is due to its original owners, the Tornielli di Borgolavezzaro. Today the headquarters of the Banca Popolare di Novara boasts beautiful frescoed rooms, which can be visited with a guide during the FAI days, where works of art and period furnishings stand out. Of great historical interest is the Sala dell'Abdicazione, where on 23 March 1849 King Carlo Alberto laid the crown by choosing exile.

Splendid noble palace. Unfortunately it can only be visited on the day of the FAI. Place also of historical relevance for our nation.

It opens very few days a year and that does not help to be able to visit it, but I have heard recommendations about it
