This review has nothing to do with the beauty of the beaches in Villasimius, but with the financial tactic of the local administration to raise money by fining vehicles owners for parking, even where parking is not forbidden. Today, at least 60 cars were fined, each for an amount of 33 Euro. The lack of signs forbidding parking , where it is likely that motorists will park their car, can be easily interpreted as a malicious intention to fine tourists. Pathetic.

We returned yesterday from Villasimius we spent 8 wonderful days. I thank the shuttle service of the municipality and its drivers who helped us with a lot of useful information so that our stay was positive. We had not found anything to rent to move us and the house was outside Villasimius, fortunately with € 2 per ride or € 5 per day we were able to reach all the main beaches, the center, the port. Congratulations great service! The free beaches are also a blessing. Here in Friuli, before entering the water you have already spent 30 euros if it goes well between parking and umbrella, and the water is nothing like that of Sardinia!

This year we came on holiday to Villasimius with our dog, a beautiful Labrador who love swimming and playing in the water. Unfortunately I have to say that we found ourselves very badly. There is no beach dedicated to dogs. The closest is in Cagliari and another in Prumari. Every time we had to do 50km to go to the beach. We find it inconceivable and degrading not to think at all of the tourists who decide to bring the dog. I live between Lake Garda and Lake Iseo and I assure you that dogs have many places where they can go swimming without risking several hundred euros fine. The problem we know is that it is cultural and normative of the Sardinia Region but every country that hosts tourists should also accept these basic needs, also because, let's face it, in the hours of heat there are no other alternatives than the sea. We do not ask you to give us a piece of the Giunco ​​or Simius beach, but, with all the kilometers of coastline and beaches in Villasimius, to use a hundred meters for the entertainment of dogs and their owners, I do not think it damages tourism. The equipped area at the Poetto in Cagliari is a good example. We will certainly not return to Villasimius anymore, if we write this post it is to warn other holidaymakers with the dog not to go there on vacation because they should spend the days in the car moving under the scorching sun.

This evaluation of mine has nothing to do with the beauty of this place but with its management. We have been coming to Villasimius since 2003 where we have a home and where I worked seasonally for a period so I can afford to talk for good reason and knowing very well the mindset of the local entrepreneur. Today we go to Punta Molentis with my family in hope, considering that the season is not yet in its period of fire, to have access to this enchanting but hardly accessible beach given the usual crowding. As soon as we take the road to the beach, a diligent little girl stops us asking us for € 10 for parking. Now .... It was 4 pm we ask him what the rate was only for the afternoon and we are told that it is 10 € a day regardless of the arrival time from 8 to 20. But are you joking ??? Now ok that the common sense here is that the tourist must also pay for the air but setting similar rates is a legalized theft. The imposed rates (even € 5 for half a day in the other beaches) are shameful! Set rates so far, so the diligent little boys of the town keep their seasonal job by checking the parking coupons and the tourist doesn't feel squeezed just because he came to Villasimius! We have home and friends here but the average tourist does not! And rest assured that if you continue like this a tourist comes here once, the second goes to Sicily!
