Wiligelmo carried out his activity between the end of the XI century and the third decade of the XII. His signature is immortalized as the author of the sculptures in the foundation slab of the cathedral of Modena in 1099. He also contributed to the construction of the cathedral together with Lanfranco the architect of the factory. His sculptural masterpiece can be ascribed to the four large reliefs on the facade of the cathedral that tell stories of Genesis with extraordinary vigor.
