Entryway to Tagliacozzo as it was. We have spent hours walking through the old streets to appreciate how the town was built eons ago (with its old houses, overlooks and church) . If you are lucky enough to visit mid October there is a festival in this part of town when many of the old buildings are opened and locals prepare and serve typical food! Definitely worth the visit.

Beautiful, very suggestive, especially when there are events like festivals, parties, etc. Place called Tagliacozzo alto. It is worth going there.

This door is part of the Tagliacozzo defense system, which from the castle on the top, with the new buildings placed downstream, becomes a "walled village", with a single entrance downstream and upstream and two middle doors. At Valeria Gate came the Valeria consular road, coming from Colli di Monte Bove.
