I enjoyed my masters study at this University. It was off the record how the professor give time to their students. I loved the laborites time.

I was an Erasmus student at Politecnico di Torino. I was at the Erasmus program during the Corona outbreak, and I couldn't enter the Valentine Castle. Many good comments that I saw were only based on the outlook of the place, location, but not studies by itself. So my comment is based only on the teaching and organization that I have experienced studying architecture. I assume that most ratings that University gets are based on its exterior and truly beautiful location right beside "Parco del Valentino". But remote studying showed university, not from the best side. I am not talking about technical issues, connection problems, not being able to see professors face to face, I would even say that university was really fast to provide a fast solution with fluent online lectures and there were minor issues with the connection. But. Right after I arrived in Italy. Orientation week activities were canceled due to Covid outbreak ( what is truly understandable ). When corona started I was informed that there won't be a possibility to meet - Academic advisor - a person who should suggest to us which subjects to pick and help with enrollment. I tried to communicate with emails but I got replies for my emails only after a few days or dint get them at all, with no further communication. After the studies, we were encouraged by our professors to fill in a questionnaire about the study process. As an Erasmus student, I didn't find that questionnaire, when I contacted a person responsible for it, I didn't get a reply. So I can make an assumption that Erasmus students just can't' give feedback about their impression about the university, that option is only for Politecnico students. From that, I can draw the conclusion that university ranking is not really true and professors don't get any comments about studies from students who came from different surroundings. Teaching is not consistent and not organized. There is no study program and no plan for lectures. Two professors of one subject say opposite things, there is no correspondence. It is really hard to keep up with the ideas of our professors, that change from lecture to lecture. Nevertheless, architecture teaching consists of only 10 percent from all the study time, seemed like we were prepared to be concrete production engineers. My review is based on the point of view of an Architecture student, as I am studying in Architecture faculty: the teaching of Architecture is not as strong as it is rated. In the course, there are subjects, that are taught nice like Structural Mechanics which is important for Architect but having not developed, chaotic and inconsistent lectures during all semester made me understand that it is not a problem with coronavirus, but studies by itself. Overall, I can say that University is rated mostly for its outlook and the location but, I would not recommend this university (at least for now) if you are looking for architectural challenges and developing your artistic skills as an architect. I believe that the main mistake that I made was fully relying on university ranking and falling in love with the beautiful building by itself..

I did my master in Polito! Overall a great university with an amazing international vibe in a city that definitely does not feel like that. However, there were a lot of things that needed to improve. There were always trouble in finding an empty seat in study rooms. Course materials were up to date but I felt like there was a slight preference to quantity over quality sometimes. Professors were mostly knowledgeable but teaching in English seemed like a barrier to some of them. Secretary hours were limited and even some acted like they didn’t care for students problems.
