We have been going to Alta Pusteria for over 30 years to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Dolomite places that well deserve recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, I must point out some negative aspects that have recently appeared such as crowding and traffic, especially in some symbolic places such as Lake Braies, the excessive increase in new buildings that are modifying the landscape up to forms of Disney advertising such as the one placed in the rotunda. of Dobbiaco. Too bad 😟

Unparalleled territory, full of charm and beauty, it is a pity that absolutely unacceptable systems are used by the administration to raise money by putting unlikely parking bans from 20.00 to 06.00 in the morning, positioned in a not very visible way, and above all in small numbers . The funny thing is that the policeman passes within minutes of the expiry of the ban without disturbing, leaving the warning on the windshield claiming that he could immediately contest the violation because the owner and driver were absent, which is not true, as we were inside, of course at sleep given the time. In short, they are the Germans but they are still Italians. Angel and family

It is a very nice place and an excellent starting point for excursions to the most beautiful places in Trentino.

I was the first time two years ago and I came back this year. A clear sign that for me it is a special place. But I must note that, as an "Italian", seeing all the indications written first in German then in Italian always gives me extremely annoyance. Another thing I noticed was the evening closing of the shops in July, also on Saturday and Sunday.

The town is divided into two parts by the watershed of the Sella di Dobbiaco, crossed by the Rienza, while to the east, in the woods, is the source of the Drava. It is very popular with tourists for the beautiful landscapes, the warm welcome, the well-kept facilities. Remarkable possibilities for excursions and walks. Transport is very organized for the other places in the valley, Austria and Veneto. Some interesting architectural works: the Church of San Giovanni Battista, the church of San Silvestro, the Via Crucis, the castle, the Mahler's house, where the composer composed the Grand 'Hotel, renovated and transformed into a Congress Center.
