Very beautiful castle, best place for a beautiful wedding. They have around 20 rooms for private hire in case you want to have a wedding here. But would suit to any ceremony. Our friends had a wedding here last year so they brought us to see this magical place. We were very lucky to get in as the property is private and I am very grateful for the private tour. Amazing staff, magical place, little wonderland in the heart of the mountains.

Wonderful view of the Piccolomini castle located in the hamlet of Balsorano Vecchio, in the municipality of Balsorano, in the province of L'Aquila. Part of the old village, located under the castle and little remains of it, after the Avezzano earthquake. The original center is framed by a restored sixteenth-century fountain dedicated to San Martino. Next to the fountain there is a pillar of the destroyed church of the Holy Trinity. On the other side the arch of San Martino is still standing.

The castle once had to be beautiful, actually 5 euros for the visit of 1/10 of the spaces is perhaps excessive ... A little uncomfortable to go up with the stroller because of the uneven floor. It opens at 16 and not at 14 as indicated by google

We could not enter. You must book. Seen from the outside it is very beautiful. It is often used as a location for ceremonies or cultural events.

A very well maintained and adequately managed castle even if, easy to say but difficult to do, it deserves a greater tourist resonance and more means available. These are our treasures that the world envies us ..... Atmospheres and stories of other times ....
