Porzûs Massacre's Cabin

Excellent destination for excursions, an important story to tell. Really well renovated and maintained. With amazement I found it open and therefore visitable. I really enjoyed it.

Special memorial place where the internal struggle between the various Italian resistance groups (communist and nationalist) at the time of the 2nd world war, led to a mutual slaughter. The result of political games between both Communist rule of Tito and the pro-royal bourgeoisie of Italy. Impressive monument that now also serves as a refuge for walkers in this beautiful wooded border area between Italy and Slovenia.

5 stars not for the place but for the historical memory

Place of poignant memory. On February 7, 1945, two partisans of Osoppo formation were slaughtered here, together with a young man and a woman by the Garibaldini, an expression of the Italian Communist Party. Another 13 Osovans were captured and killed further downstream after a summary trial.

Place significant and historical importance in the creation of the Italian territory. To know and visit in honor of those who have been victims of the dream of a united Italy.
