Unspoiled nature. To access it you must be equipped and with suitable clothing. A few hundred meters from the road, but difficult path
A path that follows the stream and that in some places crosses it leads to this surprising waterfall set in a rocky area as well as extremely humid. The jump appears suddenly, a real surprise to be appreciated in all its beauty and essentiality.
The Schioppo di Salino or Cascade del Salino is a waterfall located in the Aspromonte National Park. To reach this magnificent waterfall you have to go up the Salino stream, a tributary of the torrent of the Torbido. It is located in the municipality of Mammola. It is an experience to do for those who love nature and unspoiled places. The route is quite simple except for some difficult tract, going up the Salino stream you can see small trout, freshwater crabs, ile. At the end of the route (it is impossible not to get wet while practicing canyoning) a show awaits you that will leave you speechless! A spectacular jump of 50 meters, a pond of crystal clear water and fresh!
In summer, the crystal-clear water of the pond below the waterfall is particularly irresistible for a refreshing swim! The path is not for everyone, there are quite challenging passages, the stream is good to go up during the summer months. Always watch the weather and bring your costume;)
Do not follow Google maps directions, because they are incorrect. You must follow the second (from Mammola) torrent and not the first. From where you park your car, it takes 30 minutes to the falls. Also suitable for children over 6 years
Spectacular, unlike many other waterfalls hidden in Aspromonte and therefore difficult to reach, this is close at hand, very close to the road, the access point at the entrance to the path of the Greeks, the latter climbs towards the limina, while to reach Lo Schioppo Del Salino, you have to take the opposite way and then go back along the stream formed by the jump of the waterfall itself .. recommended to almost everyone, children must be followed carefully by adults, as some passage is a bit difficult, nothing dangerous .. from the road to the waterfall there will be 1 km and a half to go in just over 15 minutes .. 👍
