The source of Sant'Emidio is located in the Porta Capuccina district near the Roman bridge on the washhouse is the result of various alterations that took place over time, between 1904 and 1905 its re-composition lowered the level. It is entirely made of travertine, it is said that ... it is fed by waters miraculously gushed out (according to a pious legend) by Sant'Emidio to christen the Ascoli Christians. In the Middle Ages the waters were also used to purify the dyed clothes in the nearby laboratories.
