The Porta Nuova (or dei Cappuccini) was built around the middle of the 18th century and closed the districts between the two extramurals. With no rustication and surmounted by a semicircular tympanum, it is set on shelves and flanked by half-columns on pilasters resting on high plinths. The capitals, quite eroded, are surmounted by the protruding dice of the entablature which is crowned by an arched tympanum. Two salient inflections extend and connect the façade laterally. The door opened towards the ancient church of the Madonna di Grani and looked towards the Castelli (the current town of Villa Castelli) and towards the last northern possessions of the principality. It would need some maintenance but it's still interesting to visit.
