A truly wonderful place to visit, we have taken many people on our tours to here.

It is something truly exceptional. The fortuitous discovery during the work on the church has allowed many scholars to have such finds, I believe, never traced with other events. Managed by an association, it can be visited for free, checking the times and days first, with very competent and courteous volunteers who illustrate the whole history of Roccapelago and accompany us on the path, asking at the end only a free offer to be able to manage and continuously improve the whole structure. Having gone many times to visit it with relatives and friends who did not know it, I confirm the continuous improvements made since the beginning of the discovery. Everything (they say) is not managed and financed by the state. === This last time accompanying relatives (8-2020), perhaps also due to the coronavirus, I paid a modest ticket and total absence of verbal explanations ===

I have been going to this village near Pievepelago since I was a baby, it is my grandmother's hometown. I saw it evolve over time, until the surprising discovery of mummies. In reality, especially for me, the Rocca has always had its charm, it is true that the climb can be a bit challenging, but it is not long and deserves just for the view of the valley below. Even before the mummies there was a small museum that tells of the history and events that the Rocca has suffered over the centuries. Who would have believed there was more. It is truly fortunate that it came to light in order to study and better understand the past of the place. It is very fascinating and I don't think there are many places so preserved with love and dedication by the generations of people who have inhabited it or who still live in the town of Roccapelago.
