Cableway Stresa Mottarone

View on top of mountain is great and definitely 5 stars. However you can get on top by car, and this will be a much cheaper option and quicker. Biggest drawback why I have this a one star rating is that the cable car system is very old with a very low capacity. Should not be a problem if they manage the amount of people they put on top of the mountain and getting them off within a certain time frame. Getting them off is the biggest bottle neck and especially if the weather changes on top of the mountain. We were lucky with only 75 minutes waiting time, but behind us it was 2 hours + to get off. Waiting in the wind and rain. Advise take the car and skip the cable car.

Amazing views, great for the whole family. Make sure to get the chairlift to get to the top!

Nice view, friendly people, and easy access. A bit expensive though (20 Euro per person).

A beautiful view, but the need to renew their cable box

Great. Two cable car rides and one ski lift ride to get to the top. Whilst we were at the top the mist kept closing in then just cleared to reveal lovely scenery. Ski lift runs continuous but cable car stops for one hour at lunch time. But not a problem.
