DO NOT MISS. This is perhaps the single most overlooked historical monument in Italy. By sheer architectural beauty, peerless relevance to current political trends, and the visceral emotional rush it provokes, the CIPPO is simply a cut above. Well worth the airfare, even if you see nothing else in the country, after all, what else even comes close. C I P P O

It is a bit hidden, there is an unsigned access, but the sense of history that that corner transmits is definitely worth stopping 10min for a photo.

Sin placed without deserved visibility. The owner of the site should be helped by the bodies responsible for the art tourism

A little known corner of Bologna for an equally little known event in history. The recently restored 16th century memorial commemorates the meeting between the Ottaviano triumviri (future Augustus), Marcantonio and Lepido which took place on an islet of a river near Bologna. Over time the courses of the rivers of the area (Lavino, Samoggia and Reno) have changed course so the place is not easy to indicate and probably it is not the point where the historical meeting actually took place, however the legend adds to the story increasing the charm local.

You need to park a little far and walk on a path at the edge of the field. However it absolutely deserves at least a short stop. If your curiosity awakens a little search on Google, perhaps typing Alberto Angela who spoke about it in a nice episode of Ulysses. Five stars, without hesitation.
