B & B Sicilia in Miniatura

We became aware of this B&B thanks to a sponsored on facebook regarding the Jurassic Park and Sicily in Miniature. Together with 3 other couples of friends, we decide to make our children spend a different day, and since there was the possibility of the complete package of accommodation, breakfast and lunch, we decide to buy it. The start was not the best, we arrive at the facility and wait 20 minutes because there was no one! But oh well, I could also have overlooked it, if it weren't for the fact that I became the manager of the B&B. Rather than waiting for the other guests, the lady (who I don't know what her name is) left me the burden of having all the anticovid forms fill out, and of handing over the rooms to the other families and making them have all the documents. . Consequently, we weren't free to leave the room, otherwise the others would be left out. Had it been only for this, I would have also taken her to laugh. But the air in the rooms was unbearable, the stench of mold was unbearable! I and other guests are allergic and in addition to not having slept a wink, I also suffered enough, especially in the room "Messina". I do not contest the furnishings or furnishings, because the style is personal. But I think I have never stayed in a more disorganized structure than this! Breakfast was provided at a bar in the town square, but we had to decide before going what to get and wait for coupons that gave us the opportunity to order. We arrive at the bar, and we are reproached for having arrived all together. I say, are we kidding? We are a group and consequently we act as such. It was literally a slaughterhouse! Milk for children that did not arrive, wrong coupons. But, having passed this too, we go to the park, where we were asked to pay for the B&B, the visit to the parks and lunch. Nice parks, but nothing fabulous, normal. The weather was not the best, so they ask us to approach the restaurant to start and take a seat. Outside it was very windy, cold and it had also started to rain. They tell us that the table would be set up outside, among other things with the presumption of saying that they had communicated it to us when booking! This is absolutely not true and made present, but obviously the lady (the same who left me the management of the B&B) did everything to slip and change the subject. We ask to have the table inside, and always the same very nice lady, tells us that she could have set the table inside only if we would have guaranteed her that the children would have stood still. That was the straw that broke the camel's back! We were 4 families with 6 children, aged 2 to 6, how do you ask such a thing? Among other things, we are talking about a park for children, so the structure should be ready and efficient in managing them! It is clear that, as polite people as we are, we would not have allowed the children to wander around the room, and if they had, we would have brought them back to the table. We were about to leave, and not have lunch there even without having a refund. But we are told that we could sit inside. And I think we would have done better to go away, because it was not a poor lunch, more !! Overcooked pasta that tasted only of onion, risotto that looked like baby food. It was one of the most disastrous experiences, and I've never seen so much disorganization and lack of communication all together! We are in the post-covid period, you hoteliers and restaurateurs after a disastrous loss, should do your utmost to encourage the influx of your facilities, and instead of offering a service, not to say excellent, but bordering on decency, you have been approximate and also rude. Maybe we were unlucky. The fact is that, bad luck or not, we will never go back!

Neat and characteristic B&B! Clean and welcoming managers. They also have the Jurassic park and Sicily in miniature 5 minutes from the property on the road to Etna. Complete package not to be missed! Keep it up!

Excellent location in the center of the town and the possibility of parking in the nearby open space. Too bad for the many flights of stairs not very easy to deal with with suitcases and a child in tow, for the bad and strong smell of mold for the old and uncomfortable bathroom, for the lack of a mini fridge. I stayed on the top floor with a great view, the room was equipped with air conditioning and hairdryer. Characteristic structure with many objects that recall the Sicilian but unfortunately very neglected and with many details to be perfected. There was some communication and information difficulties that created some inconveniences. I hope it can be a criticism that is not an end in itself but can serve as an incentive to improve because the margins are there and the places deserve.

If one day I will definitely go back I want to stay there. It is unique, with a grandmother's home decor. Unfortunately for the covid 19 problem we did not have the pleasure of having breakfast with them, but it is not a problem at all, on the contrary, a stone's throw from there are artisan pastry shops that drive you crazy and gave us the opportunity to taste the better than local goodness. It was great.
