I have just read about the battles of Monte Cassino and the destruction of this and Venafro. Having recently visited the Canadian war cemetery at Moro close to the Sangro river and having passed Monte Cassino on many occasions, we will certainly give the area more time to honour those who died for us.

We recently visited the Winter Line Museum at Venafro. It was excellent and very well worthwhile visiting. Our guide was passionate about collecting WW2 artefacts and this was displayed in all the displays in the museum and by what he told us. I am passionate about Monte Cassino as my uncle served with the 2nd Polish Corps. We visited San Pietro Infinie 3yrs ago and by visiting this museum it has given a desire to read and research more about the Winter Line. Bob Honeywood

Awesome WWII Museum that details the involvement of the local area in World War II. The owners and curators are history Buffs, and they really go out of their way to present the story of the war not just cold facts. The collection is unsurpassed by anything that I've ever seen. Most of the items if not all on display were recovered from the local area. It is real history really from the area. The exhibits are setup to recreate what it was like during WWII. If you're a World War II buff it's reason enough to visit Venafro, you won't regret it. It is guaranteed to blow your mind.
