The spaces inside the forum are of a remarkable rationality. The scent of menton is incredible. A very nice place. The lady at the entrance is a person of the past for manners and courtesy.

A place out of the world and out of time, even if difficult to reach due to the absence of road signs. It is incredible a Roman city that has reached our times. It should be valued more. It must be kept, it is an abandoned pearl ....

It is a truly suggestive place that catapults you into the ancient past, making history breathe, also because it is immersed in the countryside. Easy to reach up to a few hundred meters, up to Ordona, after which you can only reach it with the help of Google maps ... No fear if you find yourself in front of a gate of a farm and on a sheep track that crosses a private land ... Courage! Enter because Herdonia will reveal itself just beyond that narrow passage ... It is worth immersing yourself in this corner of the ancient world and forgetting the neglect of men and the civilization of wind turbines that slip all around the landscape ...

Magnificent archaeological site! However, to find it, I had to talk to someone from the area because one of the rare signs indicating it is on the ground! 😆 all this to end up entering the property of a very charming lady, where I was able to park the car. From her home, you can access the site for free. The ruins are splendid but unfortunately the site is not maintained at all ... a shame, because it has extraordinary potential. It would be wise to schedule other excavations to unearth the amphitheater and the rest of the city ... 😍

I would have expected more care of the site and a path type path between the Ruins, but cmq it is nice to see and spend a few hours in the surrounding wild nature.
