The Memorial of Castel Dante in Rovereto houses the bodies of 20,280 Italian, Austro-Hungarian and Czechoslovakian soldiers. It was built in the years 1932-36 by the Honorary Committee of the corpses of the war dead, in the place where an ancient manor once stood (Castel Dante), from which it took the name. Its management depends on the Ministry of Defense. It has recently been restored and equipped with a completely new zinc-plated titanium shell. The road of the Artiglieri starts from the square of the ossuary.

We arrive sure that it is open and instead it is closed, with no warning on the web and no sign posted outside. A Place of Memory left to itself, a punch in the stomach for those who would like to honor the Fallen. Congratulations to the Minister of Defense, another medal on his chest.

The military memorial of Castel Dante in Rovereto preserves the remains of almost all those who in the First World War had their lives broken due to the injustices of war. Due to the closure of the site due to maintenance I could not make a complete visit.

Breathtaking view of the Vallagarina. The place is rightly austere, but it could have a slightly longer hours, at least in summer. The place could be better explained with more adequate signs than the current one

Beautiful and above all honor to the fallen. Too bad we don't even stay outside with dogs on a leash. On this issue they remained in the First World War.
