In the renovation of the ancient Giordani palace (1925-1926), the provincial adopted a U-shaped plan, with the longest segment facing onto Piazza della Steccata, where the circular access door opens. The four-ramp staircase connects the four floors of the building with minimal bulk, which maintains a perfect symmetrical outline outside with respect to the vertical axis of the facade. Few and essential decorative plastic elements emphasize, together with the string-course bands, the rectangular development of the front, pierced by tall windows interspersed with long panels in relief, ending at the bottom with floral garlands. The linearity of the notched cornice is interrupted in the center by a fastigium with human figures supporting a shield, with the monogram of the ancient owner of the building. The palace harmonized exemplary with the Hotel Croce Bianca, damaged during the war and subsequently demolished, and with all the other monumental buildings that revolve around the square, thus creating one of the most significant environments in the historic center of Parma.
