Cortile del Guazzatoio

the history of the great Corte del Guazzatoio is intertwined with that of the Pilotta, whose construction began in the last part of the 16th century and materialized with Ranuccio I Farnese at the beginning of the following century. The courtyard has always had a military use: until the 1960s it housed a Celere department. Only later did the area become the property of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
