Enrico Ripamonti (09/04/2020)
Built in 1569, on three floors, with large stone cantons that give it a very solid appearance, the stronghold was the residence of Amman (the head of the community) but also a warehouse for goods in transit (see the rings for tying mules) and perhaps even a prison (see the sturdy railings on the ground floor). The stone bertesca that protected the entrance is also interesting. Today it is an ethnographic museum that documents the Walser culture. Too bad for the two faded frescoes of the Madonna and S. Carlo: they could be restored.

Old-time construction, interesting to visit.
