Good for going to Vannino Lake, but the operating hours are short for those who intend to do a day hike up to Monte Giove.

I love this place and I gladly go in both summer and winter! You can arrive directly by car alongside the ski slopes. If you need it is quick and easy to rent both ski and bob equipment, the gentleman in charge is really kind and competent. I recommend to anyone who wants to spend a day on the snow with family and children, they have an excellent team of instructors who take group and private lessons! The ski slopes are not many but if you don't have too many needs it's really nice! The only drawback .. Thursday I went there to ski and I found that the lifts are not always open during the week. The updated timetables should be put on the site so that people can check the opening of the systems in real time !!!!!!
At the end of the modern, and rare, helical tunnel of over 3000 meters and with a vertical drop of 200 meters, which leads to the Formazza plain, an ever-changing scenario opens up: if there is a cloudy down below, the sun often shines above; if the grass can be seen on the fields in winter, there is a surprise of tall snowdrifts above. I stopped in Valdo, a small town close to the Frua waterfall and Riale di Formazza. A few restaurants, a few shops, houses for rent, a long red slope for experts - (Sagerboden) and quiet downhill slopes for children - with a treadmill - and for adults - with a ski pass -. A plain with a total of about 12 kilometers of cross-country ski track which this year has been cleverly approached by a walk, much appreciated and frequented by families and the elderly. The ski instructors are polite and always smiling. Large parking lots, some very close to the slopes and others close to them. It is possible to rent equipment for skiers and sledges. Comparing similar sports initiatives, on the whole I can judge the prices charged at Formazzaski as saving.
Beautiful place, easy and fun slopes, professional and extremely available instructors! I had already been there in the summer for an excursion and I must say that the landscape even without snowy peaks is wonderful
