Palazzo Chigi-Zondadari

My wife and I attended the Val D'Orcia wine festival on April 25 2018. It was held here in this building and it was a wonderful experience! There were 18 vineyards who all brought delicious wine for us to taste. In addition to the wine, some of the vineyards also brought different types of cheeses, chorizo, truffles chips, olive oils, etc. The owners of the vineyards were all very kind to us and told us all about their process and the history of their vineyards. The cost was €7 each and we spent over 2 hours at the event. It was well worth our time!

The building is now used us local administration office plus expo city area

On the back of the collegiate church we find Palazzo Chigi (late Baroque), built by Carlo Fontana for Cardinal Flavio Chigi. It has undergone a long restoration that lasted fifteen years, during which architects, restorers, scholars and specialists in various disciplines took turns who, under the direction of the Superintendencies for Architectural and Landscape Heritage and for the Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage of the provinces of Siena and Grosseto, have worked together and in agreement with the Municipality of San Quirico with the aim of recovering this monument of great historical, architectural and artistic value. The restoration has also made it possible to return the building, now home to the municipal offices and the Center for the Study of Landscape and the Tagliolini Foundation Garden, to the representative function it has performed over the centuries.

Third Floor Exhibition on the Barbarossa 8 October 2020 ... The rooms were completely empty, the exhibition was marked as set up but it was all empty.

Lovely palace especially under Christmas, where it turns into an enchanted country.
