I loved the authenticity of this b&b. If you are looking for 4* standard, this isn't the right place for you. The landlady only spoke Italian, but kindness doesn't have a language barrier. The furnishings, like the building, were in keeping with the old world charm of this part of the town. The furniture was antique and like some of the artwork, a little bizarre. if I could read Italian, there was a lot of personal history in these rooms and common areas. The continental breakfast was adequate and the breakfast room was lovely, buzzing with the chatter of the other guests, which, from what I could tell, were mostly Italian. The location couldn't be more conveniently situated, especially for the truffle festival. It is only a 5 minute walk from the train station as well. The room itself was large enough, but tended to be cooler in the evening (the comforter in the wardrobe was a welcome addition). Also voices from the next room over, as well as the plumbing of the bathroom could be heard. However this isn't a 'party' hotel and sensible hours were kept by the other occupants. Check out time was 11:00, but as our train wasn't until 5pm, the landlady happily let us keep our packed bags in the room until we were ready to head to the train station! There are no lifts/elevators in the building which is good to be aware of, as you will need to carry your bags up the two flights of stairs.

Great location for walking around Alba. Beautiful well-appointed rooms with bathroom. Run by a very kind lady!
