It is closed without any information We were there today 04.08.2020 and rang all bells and telephone numbers but nobody answered or opened the door.

Amazing interiors , everything is perfectly preserved. Beautiful.

A must see. But not just for tourists. We who are Triestini. We do not know the experience of our city. Go and see this apartment also to understand how the wealthy people of the time lived. . Hugs to everybody

Also this like the Revoltella and the Sartorio is a housing museum. The original furnishings of the families that have contributed to the development of this city in a remarkable way have been maintained.

The palace was erected in neo-Renaissance style by the architect Giovanni Berlam for the Morpurgo bankers. The last of the family left him, together with all his possessions, to the municipality of Trieste in 1943. Today, on the first floor, there is the Civic Museum of the history of the homeland with the artistic collections of Stavropulos, another benefactor, and on the second floor the Civic Museum Morpurgo with furniture and paintings. It is a testimony of the wealth achieved by the bourgeoisie Triestina during the empire and the attachment of the same to the city.
