The monument stands in memory of the fallen villagers who had heroically fought in the Second World War against the fascists and their policy of assimilation and ethnic cleansing of the Slovenian territory. The monument is a stylized form of Triglav, which is now also present in the coat of arms of the Slovenian flag and recognizable symbol of Slovenians

Located near the border of the country, from there there is a wide choice of paths for walking or running. Especially worth the one on the ridge in the direction of the village of Santa Croce.
