Alvynegril Guest House

Fully-priced basic rooms located right beside the sea and busy road. 3/4 of the rooms are adjacent to the road, the last being beside the sea, which may determine how much sleep you get. The room I was in contained a fridge, shelf, bed, toilet, sink and shower. There was a short curtain instead of a door to access the toilet + shower. There were only 2 US/Jamaican power sockets (plus 2 UK), one being occupied by the fridge. A/C is in some rooms, at a cost of $10 per day if used. Ms May (owner) is a charming if stern, straight-shooting senior. She lives in the property opposite, and is in the habit of visiting each and every guest at least once for a good half-hour chin wag, which comes off as feeling endearing, no matter if those persons would rather sleep in, or go about their day. Her 3 dogs bark relentlessly at anything that moves day/night, so can double as a randomised alarm clock. The coolest thing about this place is the cave underneath the property, accessed via Ms May's garden. It gets unsolicited visits every 30 mins by tour boat operators who shriek at the bats living there to make them fly around for photos. You can swim out to the ocean in between their visits.

Stayed here in December for 3 nights , nice guesthouse, clean rooms and spectacular view I would definitely go back
