BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING!! My families experience at Somewhere West was an absolute nightmare! Nothing was what was advertised or what we paid for. • Credit card fraud?? I paid in full in August and September for our November 2020 vacation accommodations. However, 8 days prior (November 21, 2020) to our arrival, I received an email from Somewhere West stating they ran my credit card and it was declined and to please provide another form of payment. I immediately messaged the owner (Angela Eastwick) and she responded it was system glitch and brushed it off. • Somewhere West in NOT a licensed establishment • The Pool at Somewhere West is NOT LEGAL to be operating. We arrived 11/29/2020 and stayed till 01/31/2021 and here is what we experienced…… • No electricity for 3 days and nights. No electricity also means no water, which means no showers or toilet. The pump that brings the water to the unit requires electricity. o Come to find out, Somewhere West is solar power ONLY. No back up electricity/generator. Does not have nor use government electricity. Which means, the pool pump cannot run regularly and if so, would cause the electricity to be lost. It was NOT disclosed to us until AFTER we arrived and lost power twice, that they were solar only as well as 3 of the 4 solar panels were broken. We were asked not to use AC so we would not lose power. Somewhere West did, end up repairing the 3 broken panels on 12/11/2020. • The pool turned deep green from not being cleaned or properly cared for on 12/10/2020, 12/28/2020, 1/6/2021, 1/10/2021 and 1/30/2021. The pump runs on electricity and cannot be run regularly due to being solar only. The fix for the green pool was to “throw chlorine in it”. • Refrigerator did not get cold enough to keep all of our purchased food, safe. Angela Eastwick, the owner, told us “it was fine”. Our food spoiled twice between the fridge not working properly and the lack of electricity before it was replaced. • The ceiling leaked when it rained. • Bed linens are all ripped and torn with big holes in them. • Had to run water for 10-15 minutes before it warmed up. We only knew this because we all took showers in a row and only the last person would have hot water. • No Wi-Fi for 3 weeks of our stay which was an amenity listed as well as verified by owner. • Roaches!! Big huge flying roaches • All window screens have giant holes and do not keep mosquitos and other insects out. • The caretaker on the property was fantastic, but she is not given any money nor authority to manage the property or rectify the constant challenges we had our entire stay. The worse of our experience was the RAW SEWAGE!!! The septic tank overflowed on 01/15/2021. The smell was unimaginable. The owner had a plumber come on 01/17/2021 and drained only the liquid waste from the tank (with a garden hose) into the trees of the property next door, which was located right under our windows. The owner instructed the caretaker to “throw chlorine” on the RAW SEWAGE on the sidewalks and surrounding the property. The last 14 days we were at Somewhere West, the leak was never properly cleaned. On 01/17/2021 was the day that the owner of Somewhere West, Angela Eastwick, stopped taking calls, texts, message from everyone and anyone. The sewage started to leak AGAIN on 01/27/2021. Since the owner Angela Eastwick was not returning calls it continued to leak until we left on 1/31/2021. From 1/17/2021-1/31/2021 the caretaker and my family, which included my 6 year old nephew, and the properties 5 dogs were left to fend for ourselves in the surrounding RAW SEWAGE! If these issues were not enough, the owner is and was very rude, unprofessional, unapologetic and has even tried to blame the issues on my family for us being there. I escalated my entire situation to the proper authority including TPDCo, Jamaica Tourist Board and the Ministry of Health.

This is 1 of Jamaica's hidden gem. Somewhere West is an amazing place for peace of mind. Being there makes you forget about everything else that's happening in the world and just relax. I'll definitely go back and I'm sure some of my friends will be visiting at some point. Love the place!

Somewhere West is a beautiful, whimsical property that speaks rest, relaxation along with fun! My stay included a full bar and grill with a pool overlooking breath taking views of the sea. If you're looking to kick start or rejuvenate a relationship this retreat has the ability to provoke love and romance back into your relationship. The property is nestled in the original West End of Negril away from the hustle bustle of 7 mile beach yet close enough to enjoy a short walk or taxi ride to the beach or other various local attractions. Somewhere West is a full service hotel boutique that can provide you with a "one stop shop" experience if you so desire. They can accommodate a ride to/from the airport or any tour that may suite you. This experience of Jamaica will leave you changed forever as this part of the Caribbean is one of the most amazing tropical destinations in the world! I am glad I found this hidden gem and I will be coming back to stay for years to come! Thank you Somewhere West...much luv.

Amazing place, from the food to the landscape and everything in between! Staff treats you like family! Very clean and tidy with all the amenities I could ask for! I can't wait to go back
