Old Clydesdale Estate and Coffee Mill

History, tranquility, serenity. There's something deeply lovely about this place

I always lament the myopic view of our heretige taken by the leadership. This place should have been turned into a Working Coffee Mill for historical and Cottage Retail industry, Dining in the lush green gardens, overnight stays in cottages, river bathing in several pools, Birdwatching........truly endless possibilities! And all they can think about for revenue is Taxes and Traffic Tickets from ridiculously low speed limits!!! I weep for Jamaica, land I love.

Nice to get out of the city

Ruins of the old Clydesdale Coffee Mill. The estate was originally started in the mid 1700s, with the mill being built sometime around 1820. Outside of these ruins being historic to Jamaica’s coffee trade, it was the first mill in operation during the first coffee boom in Jamaica. The land surrounding it ruins is ideal for those who love nature and being outdoors, picnics or taking a dip in the near by river, or venturing to the waterfall.

Heritage site. The area is so tranquil. No amenities, but makes for a great camp site.
