S & B Sunset Gardens B&B

The owners, William and Shirley Augstein, also reviewers on their own place, gave me a horrible experience.I would give a zero if I could. My underwear was taken out of my room , several times the male owner had entered my room with no just cause or good reason and once while I was sleeping with no notice. I paid for breakfasts for three weeks which I did not get unless I sat with the male owner on his porch. This is not exhaustive of my horrible experience either. From threatening his neighbours with a knife (the ones with the nice pool and orange house you see in these pics-the blue house is Sunset’s/Augstein’s, NOT the one with the pool) to other ones down the beach, in front of his house, this is not what you need on your vacation. I’ve reviewed before but I see it’s not here. Do your homework. These are not well liked people from the area. Otherwise the area has great people and other great places to stay.

This is a perfect location to get away, your able to turn off your phone and snap back into reality. The room is clean. The property Is fenced in which makes you feel safe and secure, the owners have dogs on the property as well.. No worries the dogs are lovable .. The beach is located out back with beautiful sand dunes...Shirley and Bill are like family members you haven't seen in a long time.. The Property is filled with lots of home grown fruits and vegetables.. Shirley made me and my boyfriend a Jamaica breakfast almost everyday . Which for him meant a lot being from Jamaica born and raised. Breakfast consisted of Ackee with salt fish, fried sweet plantains, bread fruit , fried dumplings and fresh fruit OH I can't forget the fresh juice that was made from a fruit that was grown on the property .. Shirley made sure our visit was stress free, knowing we were there to bury my boyfriends father.. If you want to go on excursions, Shirley makes all the arrangements and will accompany you to make sure you are taken care of. For me being a city girl seeing pigs, goats and cows occasionally walking On dunes was amazing.. Shirley and Bill thank you for making our stay amazing especially that our reason for visiting was emotional, sad and stressful.

We had a wonderful stay! Bill and Shirley are amazing hosts who are very accommodating and willing to setup any experience or help you out of difficult situations! Shirley really had our interests and making sure we had a positive experience as her top priority. She will help schedule and can most of the time arrange transport to some amazing experiences nearby, including the Black River, Pelican Bar, YS Falls, and Appleton (and has negotiated some very good deals on our behalf). Most of the time she will accompany you, which initially seemed strange as in the past hosts have left us on our own, however this is a good thing! She can talk to you about her experience growing up in the area, seems to know everyone which can lead to some unique and authentic experiences, and can help you out of difficult situations. While we were with her we were involved in an accident and Shirley was able to keep her cool, advocate for us, and get us to a local mechanic in Black River that ultimately saved us hundreds of US dollars! The space: a single bedroom attached to their house, with private bathroom and shower with point of use water heat, and TV with cable. You have a veranda with a hammock that looks out over their front yard. There is also access to a fridge, though it is not in your room, to limit the noise! Their property is right next to the beach, which is just through their backyard and out through the gate. Food/Drink: Breakfast is served daily, with fresh fruit (whatever is in season), dinner is available for an additional charge (we only ate dinner one night because of our schedule, but it was incredible and wish we had eaten more!), and limited bar is available for prices consistent with most local bars in the area. I can't give high enough praise for Shirley and Bill, they were amazing hosts and really made our stay in Jamaica a special one! We will be returning to Jamaica and to S & B Sunset Gardens B&B!

Excellent scenery and services.

Lovely villa. Landscape needs to be maintained. Kudos to the chef. He is very attentive the housekeeper not so much.
