Great staff and great support during this difficult time.

Very grateful for this library and it’s staff especially now during covid times. Oh how I miss the story times, browsing books and just hanging out at the library with my kids. A great place with great programs for everyone. Thank you!

Hard flooring throughout the newly renovated kid (and otherwise beautiful) sections. Honestly, what were they thinking? Have they never even had toddlers who fall and crack their heads? I also find the weird booth thing in the kids section oddly shaped and impediment to vision/checking on what the littles are up to. They do the story-time in the basement which is really a pain when you have a stroller (probably because of the awkward booth thing taking up way too much space), and where the tiled floor clearly needs swept but the kids are expected to sit and the chairs for the caretakers are super uncomfortable and are about on the level of folding chairs. The woman doing the story time does an excellent job but really the space is so horribly unsuited to toddlers and their caretakers I won’t go back. It seems a beautiful library but clearly impractical to children, I think the designers must have never been around children. What a waste!!

I went to the Tropical Fiesta, sponsored and staffed by the Friends of the Jamaica Plain Branch Library. The steel drum ensemble was highly entertaining and the Dominican food tasty and plentiful. The Friends were such gracious hosts. And it was all free as almost all library events tend to be. Hooray for library activity programming!
